The Pew Center on Global Climate change has published a report titled: "Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emission From US Transportation."
The findings claim that we could conceivably reduce emissions to 65% of 2010 levels around 2050 -- when I'll be REALLY old or more likely long gone, and this blog a cached memory!
The first challenge is it won't be a "one-method fix." It will be a combination of current technologies and yet discovered science that should contribute positively.
However, the part that gives me pause is this quote: "a combination of new policies and technologies."
The latter I think as a country we still have the edge. The former requires a political cooperation I have not seen evident recently. I could be pleasantly surprised (and hopeful that I will be).
