The chart link below was first literally given to me in the teacher's lounge (as long as I'm there), by a geometry teacher. We both do math interventions at Manor High School, where I teach physics and math up til Friday (not an "April Fool's" joke, see my post: "It is Spring").
It's a good 'nerd' link; the humor is subtly in the chart, and should cause a chuckle. If you browse the Radiation Dose Charts page, the cartoonist admits to not being an expert but, quoting his (as he calls it) "blag" post:
"There’s a lot of discussion of radiation from the Fukushima plants, along with comparisons to Three Mile Island and Chernobyl. Radiation levels are often described as 'x times the normal level' or 'y% over the legal limit,' which can be pretty confusing."
And frightening...ignorance is [not] strength (Orwell, '1984'), or the popular "bliss" paraphrase.
Randall Munroe: xkcd: A webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math, and language.
The new "blag" post discusses the chart.
