Eruptions in Space-Time...
A Magnetar is a type of White Dwarf or Neutron Star. They are birthed from Super Nova explosions, the same type thought to form black holes.
The discovery of this object, 40X massive than our sun, is causing quite a stir in the Hertzsprung-Russell Diagram sense. In other words: WHY isn't this object a black hole?
