The Space Shuttle program will launch for STS-133 and STS-134, and then no more.
To commemorate the retirement of the Shuttle Program, NASA has come up with the Face in Space program. It's free to upload your photo for the last two missions. Think about it: no training, no possibility of exposure to the vacuum of space and no loss of lean mass due to weightlessness!
I uploaded this photo of myself performing spoken word poetry at the Austin East by South East Poetry Fest (a spin off of Austin's South by Southwest Music and Movie Fest). Instead of a stock pose, I wanted to be unique!
You can hear the interview performance at this link: http://www.reverbnation.com/tgpthegriotpoet
For grins, I wrote a love piece called Synapses, using very pop astronomy/physics allusions and references.
Now, back to blogging about physics...
