Austin Sendek, a 20-year-old UC Davis student, is trying to get scientists from Boise to Beijing to use the term 'hella' to denote the unimaginably huge, seldom-cited quantity of 10 to the 27th power.
Do YOU have a name for 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000? I don't think so.
Way-to-go Austin! You ROCK!!!
This completely dissuades the myth physics majors are humorless, lab rat automatons disconnected and disinterested in society.
(I'll admit, during intense involvement in some projects - thesis and/or dissertations - we may not take SHOWERS!)
If you want to read about some real humor, pick up a copy of any biography on Einstein!
